I don’t normally feature other people’s articles, but today I’m making a well-deserved exception for Jame’s Kreiger’s excellent series on insulin. James takes all these common insulin myths and tears them to shreds:

  • Carbohydrate is the sole trigger of insulin release;
  • Replacing carbs with protein means low insulin;
  • Insulin makes you fat;
  • Glucagon is a “fat-burning” hormone;
  • Insulin increases your appetite;
  • Insulin injections cause weight gain in diabetics, therefore natural insulin causes weight gain in non-diabetics;
